The 1946 Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship was the 52nd staging of the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Kilkenny County Board in 1887.[1] The championship ran from 12 May to 10 November 1946.
Éire Óg were the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Dicksboro in the first round.[2][3]
The final was played on 10 November 1946 at Nowlan Park in Kilkenny, between first-time finalists Thomastown and Carrickshock. Thomastown won the match by 5–04 to 4–05 to claim their first ever championship title.[4][5][6]
