Yorgos Mavropsaridis (Greek: Γιώργος Μαυροψαρίδης, romanized: Giorgos Mavropsaridis; born 21 November 1954) is a Greek film editor. He is known for his collaborations with director Yorgos Lanthimos, having edited all his films to date.[1]
For The Favourite (2018) and Poor Things (2023) he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Film Editing.[2]
Career
He is a graduate of the London Film School and honed his skills working in commercials.[3] He is often known by the nickname "Blackfish", which is the literal English translation of his surname.[4][5]
