Waliny [vaˈlinɨ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Wolanów, within Radom County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland.[1]
Geography
Waliny is situated within Gmina Wolanów in the western part of the Radom Plain, a transitional area between the Kielce-Sandomierz Upland and the Kozienice Basin. The surrounding municipality lies at an elevation of approximately 150 to 200 metres (490 to 660 ft) above sea level and is characterised by gently undulating terrain. Waliny forms part of the Radomka River basin, where the climate exhibits transitional characteristics between continental and maritime influences. The municipality is crossed by the Radomka River and several of its tributaries, including the Szabasówka, Jabłonnica, Garlica and Dobrzyca rivers.[2]
Demographics
According to the 2021 Polish census, Waliny had a population of 265 inhabitants, comprising 138 women (52.1%) and 127 men (47.9%). Between 1998 and 2021, the village's population increased by 7.3%, reflecting a modest overall rise in the number of residents during the period. In 2021, 60.8% of the population was of working age, while 23.0% was below working age and 16.2% was above working age. The demographic dependency ratio stood at 64.6 non-working-age residents for every 100 working-age residents, which was lower than the averages recorded for both the Masovian Voivodeship and Poland as a whole.[3]
