Progrès sportif de Sakiet Eddaïer (Arabic: التقدم الرياضي بساقية الدائر ⓘ), commonly known as PS Sakiet Eddaïer or simply PSS, is a Tunisian professional football club based in the municipality of Sakiet Eddaïer, located in the Sfax Governorate.[2] The club was established in 1965 and traditionally plays in royal blue and white colors. Their home matches are held at the Sakiet Eddaïer Municipal Stadium, which has a spectator capacity of 2,000.[3]

History

Foundation and early years

Progrès sportif de Sakiet Eddaïer was founded in 1965 as a local sports association aimed at promoting athletic culture and football within the industrial and agricultural district of Sakiet Eddaïer, a northern suburb of Sfax.[4] For the majority of its history, the club operated within the lower amateur and regional tiers of Tunisian football, functioning primarily as a community initiative and local talent incubator in the regional leagues of the Sfax Governorate.

Ascent to Ligue 1

The club began its structured rise through the division hierarchy in the late 2000s and 2010s, capturing regional division titles including the Ligue V South championship in 2008 and the Ligue IV Sfax Regional championship in 2014.

Following promotion to the Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 2, the club underwent rapid consolidation. In only their second season in the second tier (2025–26), PSS delivered a dominant campaign, concluding the regular season at the top of Group B with 56 points from 26 matches.[5] On 12 May 2026, PS Sakiet Eddaïer sealed a historic, first-ever promotion to the Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 following a 5–0 victory over CS Redeyef on the final matchday.[6] On 29 May 2026, the team crowned their campaign by winning the overall Ligue 2 championship title, defeating ES Hammam-Sousse 3–2 in the final at the Stade Mustapha Ben Jannet.[7][8]
