Novyi Rozdil (Ukrainian: Новий Розділ, IPA: [noˈwɪj rozˈd⁽ʲ⁾il] ⓘ) is a city in Stryi Raion, Lviv Oblast (region) of Ukraine. Novyi Rozdil hosts the administration of Novyi Rozdil urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine.[1] Population: 29,643 - 76.1% total population of Novyi Rozdil urban hromada (1 November 2023).[2]
Until 18 July 2020, Novyi Rozdil was incorporated as a city of regional significance. In July 2020, as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Lviv Oblast to seven, the city of Novyi Rozdil was merged into Stryi Raion.[3][4]

Since spring 2022, Novyi Rozdil has also developed close relations with Saintes, in Charente-Maritime, France. Contacts between the two towns began following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, initially through the provision of humanitarian aid. Cooperation subsequently expanded to include humanitarian, educational, cultural and economic exchanges. In 2025, the two municipalities signed a charter of friendship and cooperation.[5]
In February 2026, two firefighters from Novyi Rozdil travelled to Saintes to take possession of an emergency vehicle and equipment intended for their city.[6] From 6 to 9 July 2026, a delegation from Saintes led by mayor Bruno Drapron made the city's first official visit to Novyi Rozdil. Following the visit, Saintes announced that a formal twinning agreement between the two municipalities was to be presented to its municipal council in October 2026.[7]
