Nir Zohar

Nir Zohar is an Israeli businessman, President, Chief Operating Officer (COO), and, since 2025, also Chairman of Wix, an Israeli tech company traded on NASDAQ.[1] Zohar joined the company in 2007, shortly after its founding, and became one of the two people effectively leading its day-to-day management, alongside CEO and co-founder Avishai Abrahami.[2][3]

Biography

Zohar served in the Israeli Navy. After his military discharge, he worked as a tribe coordinator in the Scouts Movement, and later as an emissary on behalf of the Jewish Agency in North America and South Africa. He did not complete an academic degree, having begun and not finished four different degree programs at university.[4]

Wix

Zohar met Avishai Abrahami at age 13 through his older brother Dror, who served together with Abrahami in Unit 8200. Through his brother and his circle of army friends, Zohar also came to know Giora Kaplan, one of the company's founders.[5]

In 2007, Abrahami, his childhood friend, approached him with a request to work for a short period at a young startup he had founded that same year together with his brother Nadav Abrahami and Giora Kaplan. Zohar joined the company as Chief Operating Officer (COO), a role he took on without any prior entrepreneurial or business background.[4]

Following the company's NASDAQ IPO in 2013, Zohar became President of Wix, while continuing in his role as Chief Operating Officer. Since 2025 he has also served as Chairman of the company.

Public Activity

In September 2025, Zohar was counted among the members of the Yashar! party, founded by former Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot, and in February 2026 he was also counted among the party's prominent donors. In March 2026, he was included among the group of investors, alongside the founders of Wiz and billionaire Kobi Richter that acquired Reshet 13.[6]
