My Ticket Home is an American heavy metal band formed in 2008 from Columbus, Ohio. They have released two EPs and four full-length albums. Their first three releases exemplified metalcore and hardcore punk, while 2013's Strangers Only marked a departure into a style fusing both metalcore and nu metal, called nu metalcore.[4] They also incorporated grunge on their 2017 album UnReal.[5] The band refers to their newer music as "puke rock".

Musical Style and Influences

My Ticket Home has been described as nu metal,[1][2] metalcore,[1] nu metalcore[6] hardcore punk[2] and post-hardcore.[2] They have cited influences including Stick to Your Guns, the Chariot, Anberlin,[7] Stray from the Path, Panic! At the Disco,[8] Killswitch Engage, Every Time I Die, the Dillinger Escape Plan, Parkway Drive,[9] Underoath, Nirvana,[10] Rage Against the Machine, Snot, Korn, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Deftones, Oasis, Incubus,[11] Portishead[12] and System of a Down.[13]

"Spit not Chewed" was the very first thing that we wrote and then the next thing was some super ambient Underoath influence type thing and then there was like some that were a little bit punky and more wannabe a hardcore band style... for me personally would have been uh Slipnot, Nirvana, and Limp Biscuit were like the main ones that I was listening to

I was into Deftones maybe like a couple years before we did that record. The band I was obsessed with when we when we made Unreal was Oasis.... That's all I do is I just copy the people that I think are cool, man. Which he turned me on to that too, dude. Like there I was grateful for you, Nick, with Nirvana and Oasis
