Kim Mi-hyun (Korean: 김미현; born May 1, 1995), known mononymously as Mimi, is a South Korean rapper, singer, and songwriter under WM Entertainment and DSP Media, best known as the main rapper of the girl group Oh My Girl. Beyond her group activities, she has built an independent media presence as a variety-show personality and YouTube creator.[1][2] She made her solo debut on August 20, 2026, with the digital single "Bish Bash Bosh".[3]

Career

2015–2021: Debut with Oh My Girl and early solo recognition

Mimi debuted as a member of Oh My Girl under WM Entertainment in April 2015 with the group's self-titled debut extended play, serving as the group's main rapper and primary rap lyricist.[3][1] In October 2021, Elle Korea featured Mimi in a solo interview and pictorial, in which she discussed her fitness-driven approach to overcoming a period of low motivation, her boxing regimen and the personal significance of starting a YouTube vlog.[2]

2022–2025: Rise to prominence and The Second World

In June 2022, Mimi joined the cast of tvN's travel variety series Earth Arcade, alongside An Yujin, Lee Young-ji and comedian Lee Eun-ji; the show became a major breakout moment for her.[1][3] In August 2022, she was announced as a contestant on JTBC's music competition series The Second World, which featured eight girl-group rappers competing to showcase their vocal abilities.[4][5] Mimi also appeared on Radio Star and, in 2023, on Heart Signal 4 as a panelist.[3]

2026–present: Solo debut with "Bish Bash Bosh"

On August 1, 2026, WM Entertainment and DSP Media announced that Mimi was preparing a self-produced solo single, and on August 6 the title of the song was confirmed as "Bish Bash Bosh", which was finally released on August 20, marking her first solo release eleven years after her group debut.[3] Mimi took part in the single's production, songwriting and composition.[3][6] The single includes the title track along with a cappella and instrumental versions, with the a cappella version exclusive to the LP edition.[3] Ahead of the release, promotional images depicted her in record shops and cafés surrounded by vintage music props such as cassette players, evoking a retro aesthetic.[7] Some news outlets noted that Mimi had been working as a DJ since 2022 and had taken the lead on production for the single, building on her established reputation for writing her own rap verses within Oh My Girl.[6]
