Lahore Fashion Week

Lahore Fashion Week is the second largest fashion week event in Pakistan, after Karachi Fashion Week, which is held annually in the city of Lahore. Pakistani fashion designer Mehmood Bhatti has praised the fashion week and called it an answer to the "futile efforts of extremists to enforce fear."[1]

This festival has also been linked with the growth of the current fashion industry of Pakistan as well as attempts to keep up cultural activity in times when security was a concern. The 2010 version of the fashion week of the Pakistan Fashion Design Council, which was held in Lahore, included 32 fashion designers and took place amid high security arrangements. Modern reports stated that it was an example of cultural activity in Lahore, despite the concerns regarding militant attacks and threats to cultural events.[2]
