Participating nations

A total of 24 countries entered competitors to compete in swimming.[5]

Additionally, four European swimmers (two from Germany and two from Italy) were permitted to compete in open water events.[12] Bolivia also entered only one competitor in men's open water.[13]

Australian swimmers Mollie O'Callaghan and Kaylee McKeown withdrew from the championships due to health concerns; for O'Callaghan, who was managing a spinal stress fracture, it would have been her first appearance at the senior Pan Pacs, while McKeown was forced to pull out after being diagnosed with glandular fever.[14][15]

Cameron McEvoy and Kyle Chalmers both chose not to participate in the Pan Pacific Championships, opting to focus on the 2026 Commonwealth Games instead.[16]

A report by Swimming World highlighted several major omissions from the United States roster—including American record-holder Anna Moesch, Isabelle Stadden, Ryan Erisman, and Luka Mijatovic—due to USA Swimming selecting the team a year in advance based on 2025 competition times rather than holding a dedicated 2026 selection meet.[17]

Notes

  1. ↑ The United States 'B' finish in the third place swim in 3:30.83, but not eligible the medals due to per country rule and Japan earned the bronze medal.
