Kim Yoon-sik (Korean: 김윤식; born May 18, 1998), formerly known as Yoon Do-gun (윤도건), is a South Korean actor. He is best known for his roles in Trade Your Love (2019), I Am a Running Mate (2025), and The Prosecutor's Proposal (2026).
Early Life
Kim Yoon-sik (김윤식) was born on May 18, 1998, in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do, South Korea. As a child, Kim Yoon-sik had Tourette syndrome, but as he was still young, he did not receive treatment and instead naturally enjoyed the pleasures of running, playing, and sweating profusely. His parents heard that the symptoms of Tourette syndrome significantly improve when a person expresses themselves and releases pent-up emotions, so they encouraged Kim Yoon-sik to participate in artistic activities and physical exercise.
To improve his physical condition, Kim Yoon-sik did a lot of sports and also learned to play the piano and the Daegeum. While preparing for the art high school entrance exam, he also studied fine arts. His initial exposure to acting occurred during this process. He came across acting by chance and eventually embarked on this path, entering university to study theater and graduated from the Department of Theatre at Dongguk University.
Career
Yoon began his acting career in 2018, appearing in web dramas High School Diary and MU:D Vol.1. He made his feature film debut in Trade Your Love (2019) and his first television appearance on KBS Joy's talk dating variety show Love Naggers. In 2025, he signed an exclusive contract with Log Studio.[1]
In 2026, Yoon gained wider recognition for his role as Ju Tae-seon in the BL crime thriller series The Prosecutor's Proposal, in which he starred opposite Park Si-woo. The series, which premiered in June 2026, follows Tae-seon, an eighth-year prosecutor, and Lee Chae-ha, a prosecution investigator, as they become involved in the reinvestigation of a long-unsolved murder case. Yoon was credited under his former stage name, Yoon Do-gun, in the series.
His portrayal of Ju Tae-seon marked a significant turning point in his career. The series received a positive response from viewers, with the developing relationship between Tae-seon and Chae-ha becoming one of its central elements. Yoon's on-screen chemistry with Park Si-woo also attracted attention from international BL audiences. The series concluded after ten episodes in July 2026.
Following the success of The Prosecutor's Proposal, Yoon's popularity increased considerably, leading to greater public and fan interest in his activities. He subsequently expanded his activities beyond South Korea through a series of fan meetings held in Macau, Seoul, Bangkok, and Hong Kong. The events marked his growing recognition among audiences across East and Southeast Asia and established The Prosecutor's Proposal as a major breakthrough in his early acting career.
