Seth M. R. Jaipuria Schools is a group of schools run by the Seth M. R. Jaipuria Group.[1] The schools draw their name from 1971 Padma Bhushan awardee Shri. Mungtu Ram Jaipuria, a philanthropist and industrialist who played a dominant role in the industrialization of the nation after independence.[2]
History
The broader Jaipuria educational legacy dates to 1945, with the establishment of Seth Anandram Jaipuria College in Calcutta (now Kolkata).
The first K–12 institution under the Seth M. R. Jaipuria name was established in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, in 1992. The school, affiliated with CISCE, became the foundation for the subsequent development of the Seth M. R. Jaipuria Schools network. The network entered a significant phase of expansion in the 2010s, beginning with an additional school in Lucknow in 2014 and subsequently expanding to other cities in Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring states. During the 2020s, the network expanded further across northern and central India. By 2026, Seth M. R. Jaipuria Schools had developed from a single school established in Lucknow into a multi-state network of more than 60 schools.
Academics
Seth M. R. Jaipuria Schools provide education at the primary and secondary levels. Most schools in the network are affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), while the original Gomti Nagar campus in Lucknow is affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE).
Individual schools follow the curriculum and assessment requirements of their respective boards. Academic and co-curricular offerings vary between campuses according to board affiliation, location and grade structure. The network also conducts academic and assessment programmes intended to supplement the prescribed curriculum, including initiatives focused on inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, problem-solving and student development.
Schools and Network
As of 2026, Seth M. R. Jaipuria Schools reports 60+ schools across 51+ cities in six Indian states, serving more than 55,000 students with over 3,000 educators. The network has its largest presence in Uttar Pradesh, with multiple campuses in Lucknow and Kanpur and schools in cities including Varanasi, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Bareilly, Prayagraj, Aligarh, Jhansi, Mathura, Gonda, Sultanpur, Hardoi, Shahjahanpur, Basti, Deoria and Fatehpur.
Outside Uttar Pradesh, the network has a presence in locations including Patna and Motihari in Bihar; Gwalior and Barwani in Madhya Pradesh; Bhiwadi in Rajasthan; Roorkee in Uttarakhand; and Warangal in Telangana. The Gomti Nagar, Lucknow campus, established in 1992, is the oldest K–12 school in the network.
Student and academic initiatives
The network conducts academic, cultural, sporting and co-curricular programmes at campus and inter-school levels. Crescendo is an inter-school cultural and co-curricular event organised within the Jaipuria Schools network, with students from different campuses participating in performing arts, visual arts, literary activities and other disciplines.
The network also conducts Summer Leap, a summer engagement programme involving students and parents in learning and co-curricular activities.
Other network-level activities include student development programmes, assessments, school-improvement initiatives and professional-development programmes for educators and school leaders. Individual schools also participate in academic, sporting, cultural and community-based programmes at regional and national levels.
Teacher Development
Teacher training and professional development form part of the network's academic operations. Programmes are conducted for teachers, school leaders, counsellors and other staff across campuses.
These include workshops and training in pedagogy, assessment, classroom practices and school leadership, as well as orientation and professional-development programmes for new and existing staff.
Awards and Recognitions
In 2026, Seth M. R. Jaipuria School, Vineet Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, was named among the world's Top 10 schools in the Community Collaboration category of the World's Best School Prizes, organised by T4 Education.
The Seth M. R. Jaipuria Schools network has also received recognition from education organisations and publications, including School Chain of the Year honours from ScooNews and 91 Media, and was named among India's Most Admired K–12 Education Brands by Education World.
