Royal Traditional Council of Ife
The Royal Traditional Council of Ife (also referred to as the Ife Traditional Council or Ife Royal Council) is the body of traditional chiefs and title holders that advises the Ooni of Ife, the paramount traditional ruler of Ile-Ife in Osun State, Nigeria. It comprises the senior palace chiefs and other titled holders of the Ife kingdom.[1][2]
The council plays a role in traditional governance, the installation of chiefs, and matters relating to the customs of Ile-Ife. High-ranking members include the Obalufe (also known as the Lowa or a senior chief next in traditional ranking in some contexts) and other kingmakers who participate in succession processes and palace affairs.[3]
