Olagbegi Atanneye I was the Olowo of Owo, the traditional ruler of the Owo Kingdom in present-day Ondo State, Nigeria. He reigned from 1913 until his death in 1938.[1][2]
According to historical accounts of the Owo monarchy, Olagbegi Atanneye I belonged to the Olagbegi royal dynasty. He was a son of Olagbegi Atanneye II and a brother of Ajike Ogunoye. During his reign, the kingdom continued to function under the British colonial administration while preserving the traditional institutions of the Owo monarchy.[3][4]
He died in 1938 and was succeeded by his son, Olagbegi Atanneye II.[5]
