Carolina Rodríguez Ferrero (born 15 July 1985), better known as Nina Rodríguez, is a Colombian pop singer-songwriter, composer, creative director, and cultural writer.

Early life

Prior to her full-time music career, Rodríguez briefly worked in modeling, representing Colombia and winning the Top Model of the World contest in 2010.

Musical career

2013–2019: Career beginnings and Heroína

In 2013, Rodríguez launched her solo music career with the release of her extended play and self-titled debut studio album, Nina Rodríguez, supported by the lead single "Búscame Un Doctor".[1][2] Later that year, she gained wider recognition as a contestant on the second season of the vocal competition series La Voz Colombia.[3]

In 2014, she relocated to Miami to develop her alternative pop sound, releasing the indie-flavored single "Duelo".[4] Following the release of "Como Respirar" (2015),[5] she published her second studio album, Heroína (2017).[6] During this period, media coverage highlighted her distinct artistic evolution and identity within the local independent scene.[7]

2020–present: Conceptual albums, Mis Santos and Interludio

In 2020, Rodríguez expanded her discography with a two-part conceptual release, launching her third and fourth studio albums, Ficciones Vol. 1 and Ficciones Vol. 2. In December 2022, Forbes Colombia recognized her in its Editors' Picks as a prominent figure forging an authentic, trend-independent path in the music industry.[8]

In October 2023, she released her fifth studio album, Mis Santos, an event celebrated with a collaborative launch performance alongside several Colombian public figures.[9] In December 2025, Rodríguez introduced a more stripped-back and raw musical style with her sixth album, the extended play Interludio, gaining critical praise for its visceral and acoustic approach to songwriting.[10][11]

Creative direction and cultural writing

In tandem with her musical work, Rodríguez has established a career in creative direction and cultural journalism. Between 2020 and 2021, she actively contributed as a cultural columnist for Revista Alternativa, publishing a series of 12 columns focused on art, society, and cultural analysis.[12]

Her work at the intersection of music, high fashion, and art direction has been featured by prominent international fashion publications. In October 2023, she was invited by Chanel to attend its runway show in Paris, where she discussed her style philosophy with Vogue México y Latinoamérica.[13] In December 2025, she was featured on the cover of Noir Magazine, accompanied by an in-depth interview exploring her multi-faceted creative vision.[14]
