He is best known for portraying the titular superhero in the television series Shaktimaan (1997–2005), which he also created and produced, and for his role as Bhishma in B. R. Besides these portions, the first half sees half-a-dozen stars making one-minute appearances in inconsequential roles. Performers like Randhir Kapoor, Mukesh Khanna, Mukul Dev, Sharad Kapoor, Pooja Batra and Govinda have, perhaps, been added to enhance the face-value of the film, more than anything else. But they fail to register any kind of an impact.

The duo are supposedly sworn enemies, but bury the hatchet at the behest of someone they respect [Mukesh Khanna in a sp. app.], but soon after Manjrekar is shown plotting against Dutt for reasons best known to him. Surely, this angle in the story is far from convincing!

As for other novelty in this film, there are a few actors from Mumbai who have passed their prime like Mukesh Khanna (of Shaktimaan fame, who is made to dance on a Hindi song) and Raza Murad.
