Marcos Lavín Rodríguez (born 2 September 1996) is a Spanish footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Portuguese Primeira Liga club Académico de Viseu.[1]

Club career

Lavín was born in Madrid, and finished his formation with Real Madrid. On 1 February 2016, he joined UD Logroñés after terminating his contract with Los Blancos,[2] but only appeared with the reserves during his spell.

On 12 July 2016, Lavín signed for Atlético Saguntino in Segunda División B.[3] A backup to Adrián Lluna, he moved to Córdoba CF on 23 June of the following year, being initially assigned to the B-side also in the third division.[4]

Lavín was promoted to the first-team ahead of the 2018–19 campaign, as a backup to Carlos Abad, and renewed his contract until 2021 on 3 October 2018.[5] He made his professional debut thirteen days later, starting in a 4–1 away routing of Elche CF for the season's Copa del Rey.[6]

Lavín made his Segunda División debut on 3 November 2018, playing the full 90 minutes in a 4–2 home win against Extremadura UD. The following 1 August, after suffering relegation, he cut ties with the club,[7] and signed for Getafe CF's reserves shortly after.

On 3 September 2020, Lavín moved abroad for the first time in his career, joining Romanian Liga I side FC Voluntari.[8] He departed the club in January to sign for Extremadura in Primera División RFEF,[9] but left only weeks later after being unable to play in the country until June.[10]

On 21 July 2022, Laviín returned to Saguntino, now in Segunda Federación.[11] Regularly used, he signed for third division side Algeciras CF on 11 July of the following year,[12] but spent the most of the campaign as a backup to Lucho García.

On 6 July 2024, Lavín signed a one-season contract with fellow division three side CD Lugo.[13] On 6 August of the following year, he moved to USL Dunkerque of the French Ligue 2 on a one-year deal with an option to extend.[14]

On 8 July 2026, Lavín joined Académico de Viseu FC in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.[15]
