Marcin Wiącek (born 28 March 1982) is a jurist, professor at the University of Warsaw, from 2021 to 2026 Commissioner for Human Rights of Poland.[1][2]
Biography
He was born in Mińsk Mazowiecki.[1][2] He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw and the Center for American Law in 2006.[1][2] He defended his doctoral thesis in 2009,[1][2] under the supervision of Janusz Trzciński.[3] In 2013 he obtained habilitation.[2]
From 2003 to 2007, he worked at the Constitutional Tribunal.[2] From 2007 to 2021, he was employed in the Supreme Administrative Court.[2] In 2021 he was appointed Commissioner for Human Rights.[2]
