Jeunesse Sportive Kairouanaise (Arabic: الشبيبة الرياضية القيروانية), known as JS Kairouan, Chabiba or simply JSK, is a Tunisian football club based in Kairouan. The club was founded in 1942 and its colours are green and white. Their home stadium, Hamda Laouani Stadium, has a capacity of 5,000 spectators. The club is currently playing in the Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 2.

History

The first sports association created in Kairouan was the Stade Kairouanais, founded in 1920. After its dissolution in 1941, local athletes founded Jeunesse Sportive Kairouanaise (JSK) the following year, on 10 October 1942.

After several unsuccessful attempts, the club finally reached the top division in 1972. Under president Hamda Laouani and Yugoslav coach Dragan Vasiljević, JSK created a major surprise by winning the Tunisian championship in the 1976–77 season.[1] The team was built around captain Khemais Labidi and the league’s top scorer Moncef Ouada (18 goals).

JSK spent 27 consecutive seasons in the top flight before being relegated. The club returned to Ligue 1 for the 2005–06 season but was relegated again shortly afterwards. In recent years, the club has moved between Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, with a notable promotion celebrated by large crowds in Kairouan in 2025.[2]
