Flag of Istria County since 2002[1]

Istria is the largest peninsula within the Adriatic Sea. The peninsula is located at the head of the Adriatic between the Gulf of Trieste and the Kvarner Gulf. It is shared by three countries: Croatia, Slovenia, and Italy. Croatia encapsulates most of the Istrian peninsula with its Istria County. The current flag of Istria was adopted on 1 July 2002.[1]

Current flag

The current flag shows Istria's coat of arms on a blue and green field.[2] The blue symbolises the sky and sea, and the green symbolises the Istrian interior.[1]
