CrossCountry Mortgage

CrossCountry Mortgage (also known as CCM) is a privately-owned nonbank mortgage lender based in Cleveland, Ohio. It was founded in 2003 by Ron Leonhardt. It is consistently ranked within the five largest retail mortgage lenders in the United States based on loan volume, reporting an origination volume of $49 billion and 125,000 loans in 2025.[1][2] They also operate a third-party origination and mortgage investments[3] division operating as Valere Financial.[4][5] They are the sponsor of the Cleveland Browns training facility, the CrossCountry Mortgage campus.[6]

CrossCountry is frequently involved in acquiring other mortgage lenders such as LendUS,[7] TwoHarbors,[8] and First Choice Loan services (the operator of Costco's mortgage program).[9] The company has also been involved in numerous lawsuits with federal agencies[10][11][12][13] and competitors[14][15]
