This is a container category. Due to its scope, it should contain only subcategories.
This category is for the listing of subcategories of professional (and important amateur) players of
pool (all variants, such as
nine-ball,
eight-ball, etc.; not including
Category:Snooker players, nor
Category:Players of English billiards), and for general-resource articles relating to this topic that are not national/regional in nature. No individuals' articles should appear in this category, only in a more specific subcategory. This category should not be forked into separate nine-ball, eight-ball, one-pocket, etc. sections, as it is very rare for players of one such game to not also compete in others, rendering such subcategories essentially pointless.
