Salisediminibacterium selenitireducens is a species of Gram-positive, short, non-spore-forming, haloalkaliphilic bacterium first isolated from anoxic sediments of Mono Lake, California. It can grow anaerobically by respiring oxyanions of arsenic and selenium, including the reduction of arsenate to arsenite and selenite to elemental selenium.[1] The type strain is MLS10T (= ATCC 700615T = DSM 15326T).
The species was originally described as Bacillus selenitireducens and was transferred to the genus Salisediminibacterium in 2020.[2]'
