On 28 June 2017, he signed a three‑year contract with FC Zenit Saint Petersburg.[2] On the last day of the 2017–18 season, he scored four goals in a 6–0 victory over FC SKA-Khabarovsk.[3]

On 7 April 2022, Yerokhin signed a new contract with Zenit, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2023–24 season.[4]

On 1 July 2024, Yerokhin extended his contract with Zenit for one season.[5] He extended his Zenit contract for the 2026–27 season on 2 June 2026.[6]

Yerokhin was called up to the Russia national football team in August 2015 for the UEFA Euro 2016 qualifiers against Sweden and Liechtenstein.[7] He made his debut for the team on 31 August 2016 in a friendly against Turkey.[8]

On 11 May 2018, he was included in Russia's extended 2018 FIFA World Cup squad.[9] On 3 June 2018, he was named in the final World Cup squad.[10] He did not make any appearances in the group stage but became the first player to be used as a fourth substitute during extra time when he came on in the round‑of‑16 match against Spain. He also appeared as a substitute in the quarter‑final shoot‑out loss to Croatia.[11]
